Buying and selling a business
The Marketplace also handles bigger transactions: selling a whole ISP business, or a single site with its routers and subscribers, to another operator. ISPMan reviews every listing, publishes ispman Verified metrics computed from its own billing and payments data, and holds the buyer’s money in escrow.
Selling
Section titled “Selling”Go to Marketplace → Sell business (/dashboard/marketplace/sell). This is
for the business owner. Choose Sell my business or Sell a site.
Fill in the listing:
- Title, a description, the Asking price (KES) and the deposit share.
- Whether buyers must sign an NDA before seeing the details.
- The reason for sale, and what is included and not included.
- For a site: the Site name, site type, County, location (Latitude / Longitude), and the Devices on this site. Those routers and their subscribers move to the buyer.
- Private documents for the data room, which buyers can open only after signing the NDA.
Click Save draft to keep working, or Submit for ispman review. The ispman Verified metrics are calculated when you submit, and you cannot edit them. Your sale listings shows each listing’s review state and the date of its metrics, and Deals on your listings shows enquiries. You can Withdraw a listing.
Buying
Section titled “Buying”Businesses for sale (/dashboard/marketplace/businesses) lists ISPs and
sites on ISPMan with their verified figures. Open one to see About (site,
reason for sale, what is included and not included) and the ispman Verified
metrics. Under Interested?, introduce yourself, ask the seller anything,
and click Enquire. This opens a deal.
Working a deal
Section titled “Working a deal”Marketplace → Deals (/dashboard/marketplace/deals) lists the deals you
are Buying and, for owners, Selling. Open a deal to see the Next
step:
- Buyer: sign the NDA (Text me a signing code, then the 6-digit code and your full name), open data-room files, make or withdraw offers, accept or decline the seller’s counter-offer, sign the sale agreement, choose which of your businesses receives a site (This ISP receives the site), and pay the deposit and balance into escrow.
- Seller: read the enquiry, counter, Accept or Decline offers, and add documents for the buyer.
- Both: the Conversation with ISPMan, the hand-over status, and the option to end the deal with a reason.
