Expand to a second site or router

When you open a new location (another estate, a second building, a new town), run it from the same ISPMan account. Customers, payments, staff and reports stay in one place, and you can still filter by router or branch whenever you need to.

Decide on these before you touch the router:

  • Same packages or different? If the new site sells the same packages at the same prices, reuse your existing hotspot configuration. If the prices are different (for example a premium estate), create a second configuration under Settings → Hotspot Configurations.
  • A network range for the new hotspot that doesn’t overlap any existing one. If Site 1 uses 192.168.100.0/24, use 192.168.110.0/24 for Site 2.
  • A branch, if different staff will run the new site.

Go to Devices → All Devices. If the Add button is greyed out and says Device limit reached, contact support to raise your limit before you go to site.

Follow Steps 1–2 of Launch a new hotspot from zero: Add the device, give it a clear name (for example Kahawa-Site2) and a Device Location, then download and import the Script. Wait until the device page shows the online-only buttons.

On the new device page:

  • Hotspot: click + Hotspot (the router broadcasts Wi-Fi) or + Hotspot Server (external access points). Choose the hotspot configuration from Step 1 and the new network range.
  • PPPoE: click + PPPoE to create a PPPoE server. When you add PPPoE customers for this site, set their PPPoE Server Device to the new router.

A customer who paid at Site 1 may walk into Site 2. In Settings, open the Roaming card to choose which kinds of roaming are allowed:

Setting Allows a customer to…
Same hotspot server, Different devices Use the same hotspot from another phone or laptop.
Different hotspots, Same device Move between hotspots on the same router.
Different hotspots, Different devices Move to hotspots on other routers, such as your new site.

You’ll find roaming activity under Hotspot → Roamings.

For PPPoE, the Strict device assignment policy in the PPPoE Authentication Policies card (in Settings) controls whether a customer can dial in from a router other than the one assigned to them.

  1. In Settings, on the Branches card, add a branch for the new site.
  2. On Team, use Assign Branch to give the local staff that branch, with a Branch Role such as Branch manager or Technician.

See Add a staff member with limited access.

  • Make a test purchase at the new site and confirm it in Payments → Received (the Router column shows which router the payment came through).
  • Watch the new router’s Last Seen under Devices → All Devices for the first few days.
  • Keep an eye on Alerts for offline alerts from the new router. A router that keeps dropping usually has a power or uplink problem on site.
